From the eyes of a Cherokee child
I don’t know where I’m walking, and I don’t know why I’m walking. My mother and I look around. Everyone is walking at the same slow, miserable pace as us. Ma says we are walking on the “Trail of Tears.” She tried to explain to me that we can’t live in our village anymore, and we are being told to move somewhere else. We couldn’t even pack up our belongings. We were held at gunpoint by the white people. What do they have against us? Why is this happening? I don’t understand. I don’t really know were home is right now, but Ma says our new village will be much nicer. I know she is only trying to make me feel better, but I really hope she is right. Anything would be nicer than this. We have been walking in the cold, wet snow for what seems like forever, and I am extremely cold and hungry. I wish I knew what it felt like to be warm again. I haven’t had anything to eat in over three days, and I haven’t bathed in weeks. You wouldn’t understand our living conditions. I try to think positive. ”You’ll be happier in a few days!” I say to myself. “You’ll be warm, and have plenty of food.” But as the days pass, these positive thoughts seem to fade away. But the good thing is, I don’t think things could get any worse. My father has already suffered from fever, and was buried along with my uncle, and two of my cousins. I guess this is why it is called the Trail of Tears. So many people have died, including my close friends and my beloved family. I just hope that I’m not next.

My hockey season has finally ended. My team came in second in the state, and we made it to Regionals. I miss all of my teammates already. You spend almost everyday of the week with them from September until March, and all of a sudden it just ends. They become your second family and then it all just ends. This happens ever year, but no matter what, I always look forward to next season.

This is a reply to a post on this blog (please read first):
I would have to say that the publishing company did the right thing. They were not able to contact the school ahead of time, so they did what they thought was best. It was the thought that counts. I know that the school paid for the paper, but would they like to deal with a big problem going around school? The publishers were being proactive and decided it wouldn’t be good for the kids. I support that.
I define people by their intentions. You could want to do something, but never get a chance to do it. As I said before, it is the thought that counts. Say your friend is sick. You really wanted to take him/her out to dinner for his/her birthday that month before when he/she was healthy. Unfortunately, that never happens. Are you a bad person because you didn’t do that, or are you a good person because you were going to take them out to dinner? What do you think?

I have been tagged by Lauren to do this post:
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower it would be the ability to change who or what I am. One minute I could be plain old me, and the next minute I could be a duck. That would be kind of cool. If you were ever in a situation where someone was looking for you, then you could just change into something else to blend in with the scenery, and then your gone.
What would your superpower be?

If I could travel to any part of the world, I would travel to Italy without a doubt. My dream is to eventually go there. My grandfather promised that he will take me soon. He said that when I graduate high school,in 4 years, he will take me. I’m a full blooded Italian, so I can’t stay away from Italy too long. :D . Italy is just a beautiful place. It’s full of artwork, and sculptures, and everyone is so nice.
I would also go to Hawaii. Just the ocean, and the beach is amazing. Where would you go?

This might sound a little weird, but my wonderful place is on the ice. It just seems that when I skate, all of the troubles of everyday life just drift away, and the pressures from my shoulders are relieved . The feeling of gliding on the ice is as close as I can get to flying. When I’m in a game, all I can think about is the game. I can’t think of a big test coming up. My brain doesn’t let me. I just forget about everything, and do what I have to do. I spend most of my time in my wonderful place anyway. In fact, at least every other day, I am at the hockey rink, if not more. I can just let all of my anger out on the ice. On the ice is my team, and most importantly, my opponents. It’s my place, where I can just let go. That is my wonderful place. What is yours?

I’ve been tagged by Lauren to write a post on “7 Things You Don’t Know About Me”. The rules are once you’re tagged you have to write the post and then tag the number of people the person who you got tagged by tagged. Lauren tagged 7 people- so I will in turn tag another seven
Hmmm…this is tough…
1) I like get dressed up-Most people know me as a tom-boy, but shockingly, I love to get dressed up. (Yes I even wear dresses).
2) When I grow up I would like to teach preschool-I love taking care of kids, and some day I would like to make a career out of it.
3) I’m afraid of needles-Whenever I go to the doctor and I have to get a shot, I get really nervous
4) My pet peeve is when people bite their nails-I don’t know, it just really grosses me out.
5) Music boxes freak me out-(let me explain) I was watching this show about ghosts, and their was a music box playing softly in the backround. It was really freaky.
6) I’m a semi-germaphobic-(For example)If anyone drinks out of my water bottle I won’t drink it. (Who knows what kind of germs it’s infested with now?)
7) My room is pink-to those who know me as a tom-boy, take deep breaths its okay…
I’d like to thank Lauren for tagging me. I hope you don’t consider me a freak after reading my 7 facts. It was fun. Be on the look-out to see if you get tagged.

The quality of my life is determined by my happiness. Life is short. If you are grumpy all your life, you wont have a very good one. I’m known as the clown in my family. Whenever someone is mad, or sad, I try to cheer them up and make them laugh. Here is one of my favorite quotes:
Live as if you’ll die today,
Dream as if you’ll live forever.
–Unknown (if anyone knows the author, just comment)
I try to enjoy life, and take things as they come. I try not to worry about the things I can’t control, and get the best out of each day.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
