Millions of people are affected by poverty. There are so many children’s parents who were killed, forcing the kids to be homeless, without food or money. Not just people in Africa are affected. There are people on the streets without food or water. We need to all pitch in and raise money. I was watching this paid program about poverty the other morning. It was this foundation that raises money. I think it was called Feed The Children. The asked you to sign up, and donate money. They would sent you a picture of the child that you helped. I think my grandfather donated money to a foundation like that.
Poverty is no laughing matter and we should do everything in our power to reduce it.

Sometimes it seems like such a big problem – too big for us to make a difference. But each of us can make a little difference to someone with some fundraising, some knowledge and some action to make others think about a problem. Think about the starfish story:
“One morning an elderly man was walking on a nearly deserted beach. He came upon a boy surrounded by thousands and thousands of starfish. As eagerly as he could, the youngster was picking them up and throwing them back into the ocean.
Puzzled, the older man looked at the young boy and asked, “Little boy, what are you doing?”
The youth responded without looking up, “I’m trying to save these starfish, sir.”
The old man chuckled aloud, and queried, “Son, there are thousands of starfish and only one of you. What difference can you make?”
Holding a starfish in his hand, the boy turned to the man and, gently tossing the starfish into the water, said, “It will make a difference to that one!”
Something to think about, don’t you think?

Very Wise Marissa. No it isn’t a laughing matter, we should all join hands as one and fight to help those people in need! They struggle every day to get an ounce of water and to see we are getting alot is sad.
Thanks for sharing and raising awareness, everyone needs to help, everyone needs to feel how the poor and feeling and play their part to help them, even by donating clothes, money, food or water to a nearby charity!!
How awful! I’d hate for my parents to be killed and be an orphan. You know, they even fight in wars now, children as young as 5 years old are forced to use guns in war when they have NO idea what they are fighting for…
